The Proposal

Babyhead.......Will You Marry Me?

My parents (Ron and Marlene) took Steve and I to Hawaii in the summer of 2003. While in Hawaii Steve and I got to share some breathtaking sunsets with my parents while enjoying the warm ocean air. On Wed. night June 18, 2003 we all decided to go out to dinner to a restaurant that Steven had picked. The setting could not have been more perfect if we had designed it ourselves. We went to a restaurant called the Beach Combers. The restaurant sat out over the ocean with the surf crashing under the wood floorboards of the restaurant. The sunset was a beautiful purple, pink, orange, and red. Steve had hung back to "talk" to my Dad as we were walking up to the restaurant. I later found that he was asking my father for permission to propose to me. I new something was up because he looked very nervous, I just did not at this time expect a proposal. I will admit it was a wish in the back of my mind. When we got to the table my Dad said that he had left something in the car and my parents went together to retrieve it. It was on this walk my Dad would share with my Mom Steve's plans. Now alone with Steven the anxiety started to build and I could not take it any more. I now had a pretty good idea what he was up to.I looked at him and said, "if you have something to say just say it". So he looked at me, dropped down on one knee and said "babyhead........you know I love you very much.......marry me! Wow that was so romantic...huh? Anyways I was floored because even though I knew he was up to something and by this point I had figured it out, I still couldn't believe that, Steve Morgan (Mr. commitment-phobic) was asking me to marry him. So I just sat and stared at him for what he said felt like forever. My lack of response had now caused his face to turn white and he said in his cutest voice "babyhead..............will you?" I then snapped-to smiled at him, through my arms around his neck and said "of course". Right on cue my parents came back and my Mom was so excited I could see her bouncing across the restaurant. My parents treated us to dinner that night and the rest of the vacation I spent looking down at my finger and smiling!!
